MCACC Regulations and Enforcement

Montgomery County Animal Care and Control are responsible for providing animal control services to all of Montgomery County Tennessee.  Animal Control Officers investigate all animal-related calls between 8 AM and 5 PM daily and provide an “On Call” officer to respond to emergency animal-related calls after hours.  Services include responding to and investigation animal bites, animal welfare concerns, animal cruelty complaints, rabies control, stray animals, and emergency response to sick and injured stray animals.

Officers also are responsible for enforcing the Montgomery County Animal Control Regulations in conjunction with the State of Tennessee Animal Laws.  MCACC Animal Control officers are certified through the National Animal Control Association, Animal Control and Care Academy, and Animal Care and Control Association of Tennessee. MCACC Animal Control Officers also complete an 8-week training program.

If you have an animal complaint or emergency during normal business hours, please call 931-648-5750 and follow the voice prompts to reach one of our customer service personnel or dispatcher.  We do have high call volumes at times so if you are unable to reach one of our staff, please leave a detailed message to include your name, phone number, and the nature of your call.

If you have an animal-related complaint after normal business hours, please contact the on-call animal control officer at 931-249-1304.  Leave a detailed message including your name, address, phone number, and the nature of your call.  If you are calling about an emergency animal complaint please make sure to leave specific details as to the animal's exact location to assist our officers in locating the animal quickly. If you have a life-threatening emergency, please call 911 First.  Law Enforcement personnel will notify our staff if their response is needed.
