Appointments are recommended but not required. The main IT entrance is located at the rear of the Veteran's Plaza complex near the library book drop nearest Tally Drive. About Montgomery County IT


The Montgomery County Information Technology (IT) Department is responsible for computer network and technology initiatives for the entire county. The IT Department will manage and lead technology projects for departments in order to allow them to meet their technology strategies and vision.

The Information Technology Department is made up of 19 personnel including: the Director, Office Manager, 7 software specialists, 8 hardware technicians and network engineers, and 2 helpdesk technicians. All personnel within the department require the added skill of business analysis in order to provide the best customer support possible to the end user.

With an annual operating budget of approximately $2.7 million, the IT Department is responsible for a computer network that spans all county offices and departments, including but not limited to: data storage and backups, server management, wireless networks, network routing, internet services, a computer, and printer replacement program, software management and help desk support for over 1000 users. Additionally, with an added capital projects budget, the IT Department continues to ensure the county keeps pace with technology trends and solutions that allow county departments to better serve the public.

Montgomery County applies information technology in a manner that elevates the level of productivity and efficiency to the highest extent possible, including working only on projects that have been appropriately funded. The proper application of technology improves individual productivity, improves the quality and timeliness of work outputs, and provides County staff with an enhanced quality of life by automating and simplifying many processes and tasks. IT further develops an environment and culture in which Elected officials, directors, and their staff look upon technology as an effective tool for supporting the daily activities as well as the critical business functions within Montgomery County.
