The Office of the Sheriff provides department-wide executive leadership and administrative support to all operations of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. This includes conducting fiscal operations, fleet management, budget management, procurement functions, and facilities management, which are all overseen by the Sheriff’s Administrative Officer. Departmental planning, research, support, and special projects and initiatives are managed by the Sheriff’s Administrative Sergeant and the Executive Assistant to the Sheriff. Media relations, press releases, and many community awareness or educational events are handled by the Public Information Officer through the Office of the Sheriff.
One specialized unit, the 19th Judicial District Drug Task Force, operates as an enforcement arm of the Office of the Sheriff under the direct command of the Chief Deputy Sheriff. For more information, see the Drug Task Force page.
Facilities Management is responsible for the construction, renovation, and maintenance of all physical facilities that belong to the Sheriff’s Office. The Facilities Manager oversees these functions and supervises the maintenance staff for the Public Safety Complex.
The Chaplain's Office provides nondenominational spiritual and emotional support for employees and their families, inmates, and members of the community during difficult times.
