The Training Division is responsible for the development, implementation, and tracking of training for the members of the Sheriff’s Office. 

Composed of 5 training Sergeants, this division coordinates the initial training requirements for new personnel, as well as annual training requirements as dictated by state law. Training applies to civilian, commissioned deputies, and POST-certified deputies.

To properly maintain the training requirements for the agency, Training Division Sergeants must be skilled, trained, and certified in numerous tasks. Using these skills, they provide training in a large variety of topics including, but not limited to:

 

  • Initial and Annual Firearms training
  • Defensive Tactics
  • Vehicle Operations
  • Leadership
  • Mental Health Response
  • And much, much more…
  • Chemical and Electronic Control Weapons
  • Patrol Operations
  • Jail Operations
  • Chemical and Electronic Control Weapons
  • Active Shooter Response

The Training Division must also track all personnel's training to ensure that state requirements are met.
