Over 400 men and women are employed by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office in both sworn and non-sworn positions. Sworn personnel are those who are commissioned as deputy sheriffs to serve in a law enforcement capacity. Non-sworn personnel are civilians who fill various professional,administrative, clerical, and maintenance positions to support the operations of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
Training Division
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Training Division is responsible for planning, scheduling, preparing, conducting, maintaining and coordinating initial and continual training for all sworn deputy sheriffs and correctional personnel. It is the primary liaison with Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) as well as Tennessee Corrections Institute (TCI).
